Another preview in the endless series of previews, though I’m getting faster at working with my tools. They say four hours a day for ten years the difference between you and the virtuosi. I think it’s a good sign that I have a lot of fun producing this stuff, and the more I do it the better I get at doing it, and the more fun I derive from the whole process. I know this track is a good one, because it was a lot of fun sinking hours into it. Also, my fiancée was bopping her head to the tune. That’s like winning the Nobel Prize, at least as far as bedroom techno goes.
Doing a lot of staring at the above while crunching out test renders of the track I’m about to unleash upon ya’ll. It’s a definite hallmark of ‘living in the future’ when I can take a screenshot, open Photoshop, process, output and upload that pic while Ableton’s humming to itself and writing 24bit, 192kHz audio to disk without a pause. I used to try to do stuff like that, and would cry silently inside while my computer ground to a halt. Now we’re experiencing what they call ‘headroom’ in the audio world, where our computer are fast enough to do a decent job crunching heavy numbers AND remain responsive for other everyday tasks, and IT WAS GOOD.
