They get a little off the hook with the annoying psytrance digital squirl synths in a few places (nothing that can’t be surgically repaired with Ableton in a few day) but some of the other areas are, quite frankly, amazing to find in a psytrance track. It’s even only a little bit overly repetitive.
Their other music is kinda the same – loaded with some pointless psytrance genre exercises (to appease the hardcore or identify to the noobs?) but their staying from strict psytrance tropes is what interests me. Well, I guess it’s like my theory teacher said, give ‘em a little bit of what they already like before hitting them with the weird shit. Don’t want to lose their attention, not much of it to go around.
