Holy fucking shit. Drove back from SFO in rush-hour traffic in less than two hours. We left at 5pm, got dinner at In-N-Out, and drove back. Except for construction zones, it was 65+ the whole way back. In rush hour traffic. From. San. Francisco.
I’ll say it again: Holy fucking shit. It’s usually bumper to bumper from 2-3pm to 8-9pm. I’ve been in that soup before, and it’s PURE HATE. While it was pleasant to not have to crawl home at 2mph and get home at 9 instead of 7. There was still traffic, it wasn’t completely empty or anything, but compared to the parking lot it used to be it was a downright ghost-town.
California is losing about 1/10th of the job losses reported nationwide. Something tells me the next couple years are gonna be rough. On the other hand, if I do get stuck commuting to some fancy microscopy lab, I guess it’ll be easy.
