The lengths faux websites go to to get hits

I got an “incoming link” to the ol’ clubneko here from a .css file. Those of you who know are nodding your heads now, the rest of you with the blank stares on your face, don’t worry about it, you’re probably better off not knowing. I’m not going to link the website as it was obviously a search engine trap site that just blindly aggregates content about its subject, but damn, a .css file? Please, get some class.

Those of you who know are smiling at that last line there. YES IT WAS A WEB DESIGN JOKE I AM A NERD.

PIE – Progressive IE

No, really. It’s like voodoo or some shit.

I know I don’t talk about my web designing habits as much as I should… but this stuff could really be incredible, since it even works in IE6. Yeah, that fucking bitch. (Apologies to IE 6 users, but from a web design standpoint, it’s an incredible fucking bitch. Also, apologies to bitches for sullying your name by conflating it with IE6.)

Oh. It’s a CSS trick too, btw, not anything you need the IE user to install. Completely seamless. Doesn’t do the full gamut of available CSS but will do the following:

  • border-radius
  • box-shadow
  • border-image
  • multiple background images
  • linear-gradient as background image

I will probably be implementing some such features soon.

Webcam + Plant Bay Window + bonsai collection = FTW

I think the title says most of it. I possess all these things and the necessary know-how to bring it together.

The only question is, do I want to do a refreshing still cam (guess i’ll write my own interface for that now… I reckon I can even make it detected whether or not the file’s newer and stop refreshing when my output falls offline.)

Who knows, maybe I could even do some live streaming when the cat’s up there sleeping.

ClubNeko HQ Update

The brains behind the phenomenon known as clubneko has moved locations. Expect sporadic updates for the preceding and postceding weeks. New house, more space, good folk, great cat, a window built for bonsai and a telecommute job.

Skylights too, and rain on skylights. It doesn’t get much better than this.
