Okay, the mis- is a joke, but the contributing is not! I just noticed that on Google’s language translation page, not only do they give you the dictionary definition of a word when you look it up (in the language you requested), there is a “Contribute a better translation” button – so now when your sentence has been babblefished, if you can make better sense of it you can send it in! Social-network effect machine translation. Brilliant! Sure, Google does want to take over the world, but at least they will let us help instead of just brutally oppressing us like most ‘take over the world’ masterminds.
I mean, someone’s going to take over the world. Would you rather have an efficient ruler or someone like Yahoo or Bear Stearns running things? It could go either way, so choose your future new overlords wisely before you welcome them.
