Weekend eBay status update:
Now with 1000% more fancy formatting than before. May go about posting more auctions later in the day if/when I feel like it, but a couple are about to end so figure the Googlebot (c’mon, ‘googlebot’ to the internet is like ‘kleenex’ to snot rags) can eat those and maybe give me the colbert bump.
I dunno about you, but every time I hear “Colbert Bump” in sounds like you just came back from traveling the 3rd world, but didn’t manage to come back alone. I think it’s what you get when you take the sex tour of Thailand or the Philippines and foolishly forget to wear the condom + wet suit.
I’m still trying to figure out how I can raise money to buy the new Ableton without, you know, working. Webcomic artists have it easy in the fact that they can sell prints of their work at much higher quality than web-ready, and you can put it on your wall (though the ease of this may be disputed by the artists). I could always try to sell high-quality copies of my music, but A) who wants a CD is this day and age, B) no one can tell (or really cares about) the difference between a decent-quality mp3 and any other audio source. Can’t do commissions of music, I can’t even begin to imagine what sort of nightmare that would turn into or how many hours I’d have to put into every dollar I’d earn that way (there’s a reason professionals charge a lot for that shit). I’d have to sell, well, about 200 t-shirts (or whatever, since you can configure what you want my designs on – oh yeah, and there’s a $4.40 discount, use code: 440SHIRTSALE ) through Zazzle to make the duckets, assuming they’re even able to stay in biz-niz (their shirts do hold up well, at least the American Apparel ones) through this recession.
I guess I could do the tried and true ‘beg paypal for it’ (by which I mean you, donating through paypal) but that makes me feel kinda weird. I guess I could justify it with the thought of exactly how much money I’ve sunk into my music gear over the years (don’t really want to see the total) and the fact that I give my music away for free.
