My good friend with pharmacological knowledge will probably chime in in the comment section detailing exactly how my mother should already be dead from imbibing all that list above on a daily basis. I’m guessing AS NEEDED = A LOT. It’s a muscle relaxer, too. I often see her high as a kite after ‘hurting’ herself doing yard work or cleaning or .. whatever.
She has brand name drugs, too. And is on SSI. So you’re paying for this. She has a lot of debt, too. And still has credit cards. She’s crazy, from the diabetes probably least of all with this cocktail she’s swilling on a daily basis. My only hope at this point is that it kills her before she suffers more from her poor choices in life. At age 50 if she’s unwilling to change to not lose limbs to diabetes, what exactly can do you about it at that point?
And she wants to get on HGH for her low energy and strength, that’s her latest scam on the system. She’s fucking doctor shopping. Holy shit.
So the family pretty much agrees there’s not much we can do about this. She’s still considered fully competent legally and cares for herself, but she’s basically a systematized addict. AND she’s in AA. She chairs meetings. She’s been ‘sober’ for 26 years now.
But what can you do when someone’s been given everything (house, income, medical care) and they absolutely refuse to do anything good for themselves?
Sorry to have to dump this on you, internet. But I’m sure stories like this are all too common in our society.
